This year it was time for me to get new prescription glasses. For the past two years I’ve been going to Lens Crafters but decided to do something different and cheaper when it came to purchasing glasses. I stumbled upon this glasses company called Warby Parker, among a few others, on IG and was sold on Warby Parker because of their home try-on kit. I watched Youtube for a few reviews and decided to give WP a try!
The Process
I went to their website, created an account and built by home try-on kit by selecting the frames I wanted. I must say that the shipping was very fast and their communication was very thorough in that they emailed me when they received my order, when it was being shipped and throughout the duration of the 5-day trial to let me know which day I was on and to remind me when to ship back (otherwise you will be charged for all 5 pair and ain’t nobody got time for that!). When I received the package each non-prescription frame came individually packaged in a 5-slot box that included a little newsletter with the history and info about the WP company. I wore the frames with my contacts since they don’t come with prescriptions in them. I got feedback from my husband and my coworkers on how they thought they looked and this helped with my decision. I actually ended up ordering another home try-on kit after sending my first one back because they have so many frames to choose from!
The Product
All of the frames I tried on were very well made and some fit my face better than others. I learned about the measurements that are printed on the frames and how to determine which measurement is best for you. That helped to narrow down my choices. The tortoise frames look best on me and it was between the Kimball frame and the Roland frame, I went with the Roland. I wanted a second pair that was a little different so I went with the Laurel 17 in the Rose Quartz color. Once you send back the kit you can select which frames from your kit you want to purchase. You can then upload your prescription if you have it or you can choose to order non-prescription frames and have them added later if you don’t have your prescription. I took a screen shot of my prescription and uploaded it and was done! They will email you if they have any questions, which they did. They were very helpful and timely in sending me my new frames.
The Experience
Will I buy from WP again? That’s simple! Yes! I had a great experience shopping for and purchasing glasses through WP. I would definitely purchase from them again. They also have sunglasses which you can add your prescription to as well as transitional lenses. I just love the convenience of shopping online so when I discovered WP I was all in! I also love the fact that you can try on lenses to better help you decide what you want, that was a plus for me! And I didn’t mention that the glasses start at $90, so both my pair were $90 each which is half of what I paid for one pair through Lens Crafters. ALSO, WP lets you submit your insurance info for reimbursement, so once I do that then I will get a portion of what I paid, if not all, returned to me because of my lens coverage through my insurance. Win win!!
Here are my new frames…
Let me know if you’ve ever purchased from Warby Parker or another online eyeglasses shop! I’d love to know your experience in shopping online for glasses.
Live well,

Sarah RobynYes! Super easy and very inexpensive. Even if you don’t buy anything, the home try-on is free and you lose nothing!
