Going into our second round of IVF, we were determined to improve our outcome of the number of high quality embryos. Our first round we did not focus on the male side of fertility and did not realize how the health of my husband’s sperm was just as important as the quality of the eggs (I mean duhh, right?!). Even though we did donor eggs this route (which I will talk about in an upcoming post) and didn’t have to do any egg prep on my end, it was important for us to make sure that his sperm was in the best condition possible.
Our overall protocol included incorporating more vitamins as recommended by my doctor for both myself and Joe. I continued to take a daily prenatal vitamin, and for Joe he started taking a men’s multivitamin and sperm vitality vitamin. I discovered Beli for prenatal health for women and men. Beli is the first prenatal vitamin system designed to help women, men and baby reach their full potential from day one and they help to increase your chances for conception and a healthy baby.
With the incorporation of the Beli men’s vitality multivitamin, there was an improvement in the quality of sperm for our second round of IVF. This time around we had 5 embryos that were viable for freezing and we couldn’t have been more happy with the results of this round. Taking the male side of fertility into account is so important as the focus is usually on the woman because she will be the carrier of the precious baby. While that is so true, we also know that it takes two to make a baby and both sides are equally as important. We have to make sure our male partners are paying attention to their reproductive health while trying to conceive. We don’t realize that male factor infertility is a thing and when this is not taken into account, it can go ignored and untreated and the focus could be in the wrong direction.
We are so glad to bring awareness to men being apart of the fertility and IVF process, and help more couples feel empowered and not ashamed of their reproductive health and fertility journey. I’m thankful that there are companies like Beli that incorporate men into the #ttcjourney and help to give them a sense of control on a journey that can be very difficult for many of us.
Even after the sperm collection process for fertilizing eggs, my husband continues to take his Beli multivitamin. He said that it has helped to boost his energy and many of supplements in the vitamins helps with overall health, so it’s pretty much a win win!
If you are on your fertility journey or just wanting to take better care of your reproductive health overall, check out Beli and incorporate it into your regimen.
Until next time..
