It’s been a minute since I’ve written a blog post (insert weary emoji face). I’ve been so busy and have barely had time to catch my breath, but I’m working on getting back to my self-care and developing some new normals since I now have a home to manage 🙂 In the midst of all the busyness I received my August NStyle Box which made me feel good. It’s like my little treat to myself that I receive every other month and it was so refreshing to get that little treat in the mail and right on time! I’ve already given my spiel about the NStyle Box creator, Nikki (aka At Home with Nikki), in my previous review post so I won’t go into that, but I will say that she did it again with this box!
The theme she went with for the August box was the “Little Black Dress” which just signifies a staple or staple pieces every woman should have. You can tell that with each piece she selects for her box that she put a lot of thought and planning into it which makes it so special because there’s really no wrong Nikki can do when it comes to design – just saying. So let’s get into the box…
The outside packaging is the same as the previous box. I just love how clean and crisp it is and I appreciate the colors that she chose which happens to match beautifully with pretty much everything in my home lol. I also love how sturdy the boxes are which enable reuse as storage boxes. This box doesn’t feel like junk that I’m holding onto, it feels like a keepsake/reusable item which is perfect.
Nikki did change up the inside packaging this time around. The tissue paper is sealed with a silver embossed sticker and the inserts were inside of an envelope instead of just being loose like the last box. Those small changes made a big impact because I noticed it immediately. The sticker made it feel more elegant and classy and the envelope made the reveal even more of a surprise because I didn’t have the inserts right there upon opening to spoil it – great job Nikki!
One thing I love about the inserts is that I can hold onto them (I’ll figure out a cool way to organize them in my home office) to remember past boxes and what I received. She included a little message, a list of her favorites which is what’s included in the box, how you can use them and additional info about each company represented by the contents in the box.
What’s in the Box?
Wasserstein Aromatherapy Essential Oils Set
I’ve been into diffusers and essential oils lately (just ordered a new one from Amazon), so this set of essential oils was right on time. The set includes: peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus, lemon grass, sweet orange and tea tree. You can use essential oils various ways, but I like to use it with a candle wax warmer and/or diffuser, they can also be added to fresh laundry and mixed with a little water for a homemade linen spray.
This was super cute to me because it goes perfectly with the color theme I’m doing for my home office. At first I thought, “what use would I have for recipe cards? This is so old school!”, but then I thought this would actually be perfect to write down my and my husband’s favorite recipes, the ones where we just wing it and the dish tastes different each time lol. Those are the best meals and the types that are passed down to generations. My grandmother made some bomb rolls and I would literally kill (maybe just a spider) for them right now. She never wrote down her recipe, so here we are years later longing for them. So, Nikki for the win with the recipe cards so that I can write down some recipes to pass on to our children and grandchildren 🙂
8 OZ. Glass Bottle Outlet Amber Boston Round With Black Trigger
This thing feels so expensive! It’s glass and I love it! I love the color and love that it’s multifunctional. I will probably use this for my homemade linen sprays that I will use to spray freshly washed clothes before they go into the dryer.
Shireen Artisan Gold Bittersweet Hair Tie Bracelet
This thing is genius!! A cute way to wear your hair tie! This is perfect for those time when you need to just pull your hair back and you are struggling to find a hair tie. It’s a cute way to conceal it and can be worn with dressy or casual attire.
So I discovered that this bag is customized for NStyle box subscribers and I have to admit that I thought it was some handcrafted bag from an Etsy shop or something. It’s a well-constructed bag and feels high quality. It is very simple and classy and adds the Nikki touch! It’s perfect for makeup, office supplies or lady products.
Do something for you
As I mentioned before this is a nice treat that I gift myself and look forward to every other month. It’s fun to unbox, think of ways to use each of the contents and actually use them. I think it’s important to do nice things for yourself for self-care and as a way to destress, whether its a mani/pedi twice a month, treating yourself to lunch every Friday or a subscription box. Think of something you love or enjoy that won’t break the bank but still puts a smile on your face and takes your mind off of daily stresses even if it’s just for a short time. Now that you’ve thought of it, why not do it? Promise me that starting now you will dedicate some time and a little money if needed to do something for you. I promise you won’t regret it and it may make your days a little better as it’s something to look forward to 🙂
I’d love to hear about how you treat yourself. Comment below and tell me what you like to do for you!
Live well,
