This is my mental checklist anytime we head into a listing– - 🚩 Water marks on the ceiling - 🚩 Cracks in the walls or foundation - 🚩 Sloping or slanting floors - 🚩 Sagging roof - 🚩 Cracked sidewalks or driveway - 🚩 Signs of mold It’s always recommended to have a professional inspection done before buying to reveal any hidden problems. But as your agent, I can perform a first-pass and help identify potential issues that might not be immediately obvious. I had a client who was searching for potential investment properties. I was doing a virtual tour for him and immediately upon entering the house I could not only see the sloping floors but I could feel it. It was a huge red flag for me, so I let my client know what I noticed and he thanked me for being honest and decided to pass on that home. There’s so much more than meets the eye when we go house hunting and while you are admiring the home and trying to envision yourself in it, I’m checking for things that could potentially be a problem. @tupelohoneycafe is new to Huntsville and I had to check it out for the grand opening! The first 50 people in line received a free entree. We started with their house made biscuits and jam - amazing! I had the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken with the Stone Ground Goat Cheese Grits and it was all so delicious. The chicken was seasoned perfectly! I also had the Magic Lemonade - the color changing effect was very cool. That was also really good! Ya’ll better come get one of these 🔥 Some of the other menu items at the table were: •Mountain Morning Bowl •Tupelo Shrimp and Grits •Mac n Cheese •Mimosa Flight •Orange Cinnamon Roll Old Fashioned Overall we had a great experience and I will definitely be back to try more of their menu items. If you’re looking for a place to eat in Huntsville this weekend, Tupelo Honey is located at @midcitydistrict and it’s the perfect spot to go grab brunch! This time of year has been tough for me for the past few years as it’s the time of year when I experienced back to back pregnancy losses. And those in the mental health field know that this time of year is also when depression is at its highest. So being that this can be a difficult time of year for many, I wanted to share some of my wellness tips that I practice especially now when seasonal depression is a real thing. 1. Jesus is always my number one go-to. He’s the one who knows me best and knows exactly what I’m going through. 2. Moving my body even when I don’t feel like it. It’s tough but I always feel so much better when I get in some form of exercise. 3. I’m an advocate for therapy and I truly believe you can pray and go to therapy. If you haven’t tried both, it’s a game changer 🙌🏽 4. My therapist reminded me that I need to get back to journaling. I loved to journal even as a kid, so getting back to that has truly been healing. 5. After my first loss, I was determined to find joy and since then I’ve been finding things to do that bring a little joy mixed with nostalgia and it’s the best! 6. It’s so easy to get caught up in what you haven’t done or what you need to do, but I think it’s so important to celebrate the wins along the way. 7. Giving myself permission to feel what I feel without guilt is still a work in progress but it definitely allows me to be in the present moment and not rush my feelings along.
